Instead of doing my history reading, I decided to continue with the Power Rangers 30 Days meme. I clearly have my priorities straight.
( Favorite male + female Rangers )
( Other thirty days, for my reference )

So, now that I've actually seen all the seasons of Power Rangers, I figured I'd give the 30 Days meme another go.

More to come soon! =)

Stealing from
pockythoughts! And also stealing her idea of using Zordon-era Rangers, because, um, I'm creative like that. Only difference is, I included some of the In Space ones. =)
First, write down the names of 12 characters (it's best when they're all from the same fandom). Then read and answer the questions. You can't look at the questions until you write down the 12 characters you're going to use.

30 Days of Power Rangers
1-How did you get into PR?
I'm very confused about how I got into Power Rangers. I know I first started watching the show when Lost Galaxy came on. However, even though I had only caught a few glimpses (and by "glimpses," I mean "looked at disinterestedly at what my brother was watching for a few seconds and then wandered off") of the Zordon Era, those were the characters I always remember knowing about. I was obsessed with Tommy and Kimberly, and I would read fanfiction about them and the other Zordon Era Rangers - yet I had never actually watched those seasons. I still have no idea how that worked out the way it did.
Anyway, so, I started with Lost Galaxy and watched religiously all the way through Wild Force. By that time, however, watching Power Rangers was no longer cool at my age. I was also extremely disappointed in Wild Force, so I stopped watching after the finale.
Then, when I was a sophomore in high school, I decided to write an epic Power Rangers fanfic featuring a character I had had in my mind since I was five years old. I... also don't know how that worked out. Either way, for whatever reason, I decided to write it. I quickly realized that I would actually need to do canon research, since it had been awhile since I had watched any episodes, and so I downloaded MMPR and started watching. It all went downhill from there. =D
On a side note, I'm pretty sure Power Rangers fanfic scarred me for life. When I was, like, in fourth grade and first discovering it, I thought it was real. So when I read a story where Billy was raped by Cestria, I totally freaked out and thought it had actually happened on the show. (That was also how I found out what rape was. =/ ) It took me awhile to realize that fanfiction was something entirely separate.

Since I last updated, I've gone back to college! New classes are as follows.
Studies in Poetry: Required class for the English major, so appropriately meh. My teacher seems all right, but we literally analyze one poem for an hour and it gets tiresome after awhile. Could definitely be worse, though.
Elementary French: Once I master the pronunciation, I will love it. Until then, it's frustrating. The class is more speaking-based than writing-based, which I understand but don't learn a lot from; I memorize best when I have to write it down.
Honors seminar: My teacher is way better than last year's, but it would be pretty hard to be worse. She totally fits the crazy lady stereotype, but in a good way. I'm presenting Machiavelli's The Prince for class next Monday. Awesome. :D
Intro to Creative Writing: Love this class! It helps that my teacher is really cute. ;D Haven't really gotten a good vibe from most of the people in it (there was one douchebag who started talking about how racism didn't exist anymore in front of a black guy, omfg), but the assignments are interesting and I think my writing has already improved a little.
I'm living on the livelier part of campus this year, which is interesting. So many drunk people, ugh. But I'm very close to the subway and to my new job (working at the video services center, ten hours a week, started today!), so those are all pluses. I might actually get around to using the fitness center once in awhile, since getting to it is no longer a workout.
I'm considering joining our school's literary magazine this year. It has the potential to be a very pretentious affair, but it could be nice. If I enjoy it and wind up sticking with it, it'll be a good thing to put on my resume.
Finally, a Power Rangers-themed meme! Stolen from
pockythoughts.
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing (excluding instrumentals)
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool...
7. Tag three people!
( This is what I do when I'm supposed to be writing three papers )

1. Comment to this post with "I surrender!" and I'll assign you the basis of some tv show idea. (Science fiction show, medical drama, criminal procedure, etc...)
2. Create a cast of characters, including the actors who'd play them
3. Add in any actor photos, character bios and show synopsis that you want.
4. Post to your own journal.
My prompt was: "Elves on Spaceships"
( In which I rip off The Lord of the Rings, Lost, V, Power Rangers, and God knows what else )
I don't know about you guys, but I suddenly want this show to exist.

First, make a list of your top 8 artists overall. Then, for each of these artists, add the 7 most similar artists to your list. Delete any duplicates, count up the number of entries in your library and this will give you some idea of how eclectic your listening habits are. The higher your score, the more varied your music is.
(Note: Don't include the band members as solo artists, or with another band)

1) What's your favorite magazine?
To be honest, I really don't read magazines. I used to have a subscription to Vogue and Vanity Fair, but I'm not renewing them because I was never very interested in reading them. (Also, Vanity Fair's articles are way too long to hold my attention - and this is coming from someone who is capable of reading a novel in a day.)
2) What book are you currently reading?
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien!
3) What's the worst book you ever read?
The Bible. No offense to the religious crowd, but the narrative is boring/redundant. There are also so many points at which the Bible contradicts itself or has ridiculous plot holes that I honestly can't take it seriously.
4) What makes a book perfect for you?
Having an ending that keeps me thinking about it for days after.
5) If you could buy any book right now, which one would it be?
Good question... I have a really long lists of books I'm interested in buying, but I don't have it with me at the moment. =/

1. At what age do you think it's appropriate for someone to get their driver's license?
If most people weren't going off to college at the age of eighteen, I would say eighteen. That said, I can't imagine having to deal with trying to get my license while adjusting to a completely different environment. You should definitely be practicing on roads and routes you're comfortable with - and what with all the alcohol students tend to consume in college, it would make more sense to learn to drive when you're not in such a volatile living situation.
2. At what age do you think it's appropriate for someone to first drink alcohol?
Eighteen. Not only would it majorly cut down on binge drinking in college (due to students not having to chug quickly in order to avoid getting caught), but it would also encourage more students to come forward and seek help in case of alcohol poisoning or other alcohol-related injury. How many students die each year whose deaths could have been prevented, had their friends not been afraid of getting in trouble for calling 911?
3. At what age do you think it's appropriate for someone to become sexually active?
I'm not sure how I feel about fourteen or fifteen, but absolutely no younger than that. Although it is a personal decision, and different people are ready at different times, no one should be having sex in middle school. That's completely ridiculous. No one at that age is emotionally stable enough to be making that decision, nor responsible enough to be safe about it.
4. At what age do you think it's appropriate for someone to vote in elections affecting national and/or local government?
Eighteen works for me. That said, you should definitely have to take a test before being allowed to vote in each election! If you can't take the time to go to each candidate's website or a neutral site like On the Issues and educate yourself about the person you're voting for/against, you shouldn't be allowed to vote.
5. At what age do you think it's appropriate for someone to be conscripted for military service?
I'm not sure if eighteen's old enough for me. Can't we switch the drinking age with the military service age? =P

Let's just ignore the fact that this is technically a day late...

11:00 // Good Morning, Tweety Bird
( The rest of my day... )
In other news, today/yesterday was a pretty good day. =) Woke up at 11:00, read a book, rearranged/cleaned my room, chilled with my boyfriend, did some writing, backed up my music on iTunes, had a delicious stir-fry for dinner, watched the new ABC Family gymnastics series "Make It Or Break It," ate a yummy cupcake, watched the Demi Lovato/Selena Gomez movie Princess Protection Program, and did some more writing. I ♥ summer.
