So, today was basically an awesome day.

I saw The Dark Knight with [livejournal.com profile] shortperson5555, which was pretty amazing. Heath Ledger totally stole the show from anyone and everyone. The rest of the movie was okay... Two-Face was horribly creepy. Ugh.

Then we went to Panera (chicken salad sandwich, woot!) and Newbury Comics, where I got a Gossip Girl and Ocean's 13 poster... both of which I am very happy about. I also got some cheap CDs and a DVD of Perfect Body, a movie about an anorexic gymnast. All for the very reasonable price of not much more than $30!

Afterwards we went to Barnes & Noble, where I proceeded to buy the new editions of Sweet Valley High (stfu =P) and a swanky notebook. But that's not all...

I GOT 5'S ON ALL OF MY AP TESTS! INCLUDING EUROPEAN!

(A 5 is the highest score you can get... and I thought I did horribly on European History! I don't know what they were thinking when they gave me that score, but I'm not complained! =D sjkldfjsklgjklsdjgkldfjgkld so excited right now, you have no idea.)

So, to celebrate, I ate four peanut butter cookies (yum!) and am now rearranging my room! =DDDDDDD
So, the reason that I've been kind of absent from LiveJournal over the past couple of days is because I was in Washington, D.C. for a school field trip.

Rambling about the trip )

Today I went shopping with my family at an outlet mall. =) Twas lots of fun. I actually bought something from Aeropostale--I'm turning to the dark side!

Plus, I also got some sexy boots.

Pictures beneath the cut! Easy on dial-up. )

And on Monday, my dad and I are planning on going to Barnes & Noble, where I have a gift certificate. I'm thinking of getting Fight Club and The Boleyn Inheritance, but does anyone have any recommendations?
I'm doing that iTunes meme again, because it is teh awesome.

Step 1: Put iTunes on random.
Step 2: Pick your favorite lines from the first twenty songs that play.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song the lines come from and the artist.
Step 4: Cross out the songs when someone guesses correctly.

If, for some reason, you know all of them, don't guess them all in one go! Give other people a chance. *cough*

Another meme... )

On another note, I made some exciting purchases on Amazon.Com last night! They're having a special where they're selling a bunch of CDs for $7.99, including the new Josh Groban one, and of course I couldn't resist. I ended up getting...

Celtic Woman - A Christmas Celebration [$7.99]
Celtic Woman - Celtic Woman [$12.99]
Josh Groban - Awake [$7.99]
Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes [$4.99]

I love the wonders of online shopping. I pretty much just bought four CDs for the price of two! *ish proud*

And so [livejournal.com profile] anolinde continues to save the music industry, one CD at a time.

So, today I continued on my mission to single-handedly save the music industry, which led me to the purchase of:

Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill [Acoustic]
Delerium - Chimera
Bethany Dillon - Bethany Dillon

All of these albums are absolutely amazing, and I would highly recommend them to everyone.

Unfortunately, I saw about fifty other CDs I wanted in the music section, so that was not cool. -_-

Also unfortunately, I lost my wallet, which had about thirty dollars in it as well as a gift card to Border's. So not cool. I have no idea what happened to it after our trip to Hawaii, and I'm only 99% positive that I remember packing it. So not good.

Sometime this week I had a rather interesting conversation with my dad and my brother.

Dad: So, have you guys ever heard of Anye West?
Me and my brother: ...You mean, Kanye West?
Dad: Yeah, her too.
Me and my brother: *facepalm*
Me: Dad, Kanye West is a guy.
Dad: ...Oh.

*lols* Ah, Dad. Blind, deaf, and forgetful... *shakes head*

Ooh, one other thing:

New layout!

It's my first time customizing Bloggish; I think it came out relatively well. I still have to edit my userinfo and do a whole lot of other crap, but it's all good. :P

That's about it... lol.

*squee*

My order came in! The one that Amazon.Com said wasn't expected until the fifteenth! *dies*

Lol, they shipped it out on the third--this makes it the fastest shipper I've ever seen. I ♥ Amazon.Com.

*is now the proud owner of The Chronicles of Narnia score and the extended edition of Kingdom of Heaven*

Amazon.Com is my new best friend.

Seriously.

Let me ask you this: How much do you think that four DVDs and one CD would cost, normally (i.e. in stores)? $50? $60? $70? Even $80?

*shakes head*

I just ordered The Chronicles of Narnia score (which I've only seen in stores for $19.99, and therefore refrained from buying) and the four-disc extended edition of Kingdom of Heaven for a grand total of $37.29!

*dances in circles*

Plus, since the order is more than $20, it comes with free shipping and handling.

OMG SO EXCITED.

Teh Pretties

*g* I love it when I make bargains.

In other news, I just finished reading a Jodi Picoult book called The Pact. It's about a boy and a girl, Chris and Emily, who are best friends/lovers. The families of the two are really close, as well. One night, Emily gets shot, and as it turns out she made a suicide pact with Chris. Chris gets put on trial for first-degree murder, because he was one of the people holding the gun.

I would totally and completely recommend this book to anyone, though not because of the way it was written. The author seemed to fail with the adults, because all of their reactions seemed to be overdramatic, and I could never keep track of which ones were married to whom. However, the flashbacks to when Chris and Emily were younger were amazing, and the story itself was so compelling that I literally stayed up until one in the morning today because I couldn't put it down.

Just as a warning: There are some sex scenes, a few of which seem rather gratuitous. The book also delves into sexual abuse, which I could have seen coming a mile off, but was still affected by nonetheless.

Overall, a very good read, except for the fact that the author seemed to be trying too hard in some places, and never really did a good job with the adults.

And that would be my "I just saved money!"/"I just read a good book!" speech of the day.

Guess who just ordered The Lord of the Rings: Limited Edition DVDs from Amazon.Com?

That's right--me!

JDFJKJGK;JKSDGKDGKDFGFDKLS;JGKFD

And what's even better, I got them only for $16.98 each. Plus, since I ordered them altogether and the purchase totaled more than $20, I got free shipping and handling! It'll take longer than standard shipping, but at $50.94 I felt I'd already spent enough, so I decided to wait.

In case you haven't heard, the limited editions combine both the theatrical and the extended versions on one disc. I've been looking to collect the theatrical versions, and this was definitely the best way to do it--not to mention the fact that they have uber-sexy covers. Furthermore, they're releasing this 300-minute, mostly unedited documentary some guy was given permission to do about what really went on behind the scenes of The Lord of the Rings.

*ish teh happy*

Unfortunately, this means that I seriously have to get a job, because I also want to buy LOST: Season Two, along with a bunch of CDs and books. *woe*
