So, random story.

I was driving to a Chinese restaurant to pick up the food we had ordered. I had never seen this restaurant before, but my dad told me it was in the plaza immediately before one would take a right to go to his country club (there are lots of plazas in that area, hence the distinction). So, I'm driving down the main road, and I turn into the plaza immediately before the right. Problem is, there is no Chinese restaurant.

I then called home, where my dad got angry with me for not being able to find the place, which was totally ridiculous because not only was it not where he had told me it would be, I had also looked around me from the plaza parking lot and it wasn't in any of the adjacent plazas. Finally I hung up on him, drove around the plaza just to make sure it wasn't there (it wasn't), and then called my mom.

My mom then called the Chinese restaurant and asked them where they were. They told her that I was in fact very close, I just had to find the plaza with a big sign for a sports store and turn into it. My mom called me back and told me this, so I then proceeded to drive back along the road. The owner said I was very close; I drove for about two minutes before realizing I must have missed it and then turned back.

After I did this, all the while cursing just about everything I could think of, my mom called me. I don't do things while talking on the phone, never mind driving, so I pulled into a random plaza and started yelling at her for getting the directions wrong. I totally shouldn't have yelled at her, because it was my dad who was angry at me for not getting his screwy directions right, but finally I finish ranting and look up.

I had parked right in front of the Chinese restaurant.

Not only was there no sports store sign - not even a big one - at the plaza, there was also no sign for the restaurant. The owners must have thought I was nuts, though, because I pulled into the parking lot and was shouting on the phone, half-hysterical because I couldn't find the fucking restaurant, and it was right in front of me the entire time.

*sigh* I love how my parents think I can drive myself to gymnastics meets that are an hour away, when we have enough problems trying to get me to a Chinese restaurant ten minutes away.
