ARTIST: Plumb
TITLE: Plumb

01. I'm not usually too fond of heavy guitars, but Plumb manages to use them without ruining the tracks--the lyrics themselves save the songs, because they're thought-provoking and a lot of them are talking about survivors coping with abuse, whether's it's physical, verbal, or sexual.

02. "Pennyless" is such a good song! Instead of the guitars, Plumb uses violins and the piano, which really sets the mood of the track. (It's about a homeless girl in Chicago.)

03. I still don't understand the point of really long tracks that have two different tracks in them, like "Send Angels (Life On Pluto)." Why not just separate them into two songs? Also, either my copy of this CD was messed up or this was supposed to happen, but it cut off very abruptly (i.e. when she was still singing).

04. Overall, I think this was a good debut from her, but it could have been a little more pleasant-sounding to the ears. The instruments weren't exactly the sleekest ones she could have chosen, and nor did they seem to have any effect on the song, with the exception of "Pennyless." The lyrics are excellent, and I definitely have to commend Plumb for trying to make people more aware of how horrible abuse is.
