FORMAT: CD
ARTIST: Beanfield
TITLE: Human Patterns
01. It's almost impossible to describe this music. For the most part, it sounds like music you might hear in movies while they're showing nightclub life, but it definitely has a jazzy beat underlining it. It could also apply to little montages in TV shows where you see people shopping or decorating rooms at rapid speed. You can't classify it!
02. I wouldn't recommend this for party music (if you've planned dancing), because it's not that energetic. However, it could work for background music in bars--not that I've ever really been in one.
03. It's repetitive without seeming repetitive. Kudos.
04. There are some vocals on this album, but while the lyrics could pass as decent poetry, the way in which they're spoken is way too monotonous and they're pretty much saying the same thing over again. They tend to hinder rather than help the tracks. I'm not sure what the actual lyrics are, but it sounds like "Seducing symbols chanting signs," which is kind of hokey.
05. I'm sorry, but having the majority of your tracks over five minutes long makes the songs drag on forever.
06. You can't tell the difference between one track in the next. I'm not sure if that's a bad thing or a good thing.
07. There are some nice drums going on in "Catalpa," I like them.
08. Having now listened to the whole thing, it's basically a one-hour song. There is pretty much no difference between the songs, and even though that's not necessarily a bad thing, it doesn't make any of the tracks remarkable (or even the album). Again, very good for background music, but not for active listening.
