New layout!

Okay, so, since I did this for
the_lj_reboot, we're supposed to talk a little about the design process that went behind the making of the layout. I'll describe it as well as I can remember, because I made this layout back in October or November.
Originally, I saw the Clean Cut and Utopia designs for the Style (you can view them here and really wanted to do something that combined the two of them. Namely, I wanted to keep the sidebar of Clean Cut, but also the cool entry formatting of Utopia.
I originally tried to use the stylesheet for Clean Cut, but it was too hard to find and too complicated, so I decided to recreate it from scratch using Smooth Sailing (which I like, because it displays tags in the sidebar). I then spent the better part of a week fooling around on my journal
testsforlayouts (can you guess what it's for?). A couple of times, I had to get help from
s2smoothsailing, but that's okay. =)
The lyrics in the layout ("Cherry Lips (Go Baby Go!)" by Garbage) are in there simply because that song was on while I was thinking about what to put in a random textbox in the sidebar that I didn't even end up using. It kind of stuck, and so while I was trying to make the header I decided to use these pics of Evangeline Lilly, because they come off as very flirty and that (to me) is what the song's about.
Just a bit of trivia: the header was what finally switched me from Internet Explorer to Firefox, because Internet Explorer kept erasing the picture whenever I scrolled down.
So, yeah, that's basically what happened with my layout. =) I'm very happy with it, except now I'll have to get used to having the sidebar on the left as opposed to the right. To everyone who's never contemplated joining
the_lj_reboot, I would highly recommend it, because they have a ton of tips about CSS and it's really easy to follow along!
What do you guys think?
