Time for the requisite "What I've been doing/gotten for the holidays" post.
So, on Friday we did a little gifts exchange at school. I got a sexy pyramid of Lindt truffles from
lanie__rose, and candle that smells like Christmas (!!!) from
hethien, CDs from
a4_anglomania and
lightshadow54, an amazingly awesome rum bottle lamp from
elven_pirate_22, and the Master & Commander DVD from Jeremy. I also gave some cookies to Abby, who felt bad because she didn't have a gift for me and gave me some chocolate that she didn't want. =) The whole day was kind of a waste, because in English we watched Pride & Prejudice, in Science we ate the class next door's cell projects, and in Math we played games. My kind of day, in other words.
Then, after school, everyone came over for
elven_pirate_22's surprise birthday party! Except, my idiot of a brother ruined it by saying before we had surprised her, "I guess you never thought you'd get a party, huh?" *facepalm* But all in all, it was fun, and everyone worshipped the yummy cookies that I made. Well, I did at least. =D
Hm... on Saturday we went to my cousins' house, where I was the most grateful recipient of gift certificates, money, and truffles. My younger cousins Maggie and Mini Vinny (who is definitely not very mini) are so adorable! They're huge--not fat, but really, really tall. My aunt and uncle are tall, so it runs in the family, but I was like, "Omg, I was definitely not that big when I was their age." Mini Vinny just wanted to play with Playmobil, but he's obsessed with Pirates of the Caribbean and he had his own little Commodore Norrington Playmobil figure. It was so cute!
Sunday, Christmas Eve, I scrambled around trying to get last-minute gifts for my parents together. There was a gymnastics/ice skating exhibition on late in the afternoon, so I watched that, but it wasn't very good and I was kind of turned off by Carly Patterson singing. She was like, "I wasn't worried about the Olympics at all... but singing is so terrifying!" Right, Carly, whatever. And then Shannon Miller gave what was supposedly her last performance, which was a really bad tango dance kind of thing with hardly any tumbling at all. I mean, I could have done half of that stuff. So, that was a bit sad. Then my family and I had dinner, sat around the fire and shared a yummy fondue, and did some crossword puzzles that my dad had made for us. Twas fun.
Today was tres awesome. For one thing, my parents actually stuffed the stockings! *excitement* And they were really nice, too. I got some chocolate, speakers for my iPod, LOST: Season 2 (DVD and soundtrack), Mr. & Mrs. Smith (unrated, woot!), POTC2 (!!!), the Tristan & Isolde soundtrack, and LOTR: TTT Complete Recordings. My mom actually gave me the one for the Fellowship, but since I already have that we're going to exchange it later this week. =D
Then my grandma and great-aunt came over, and we had a very yummy lunch. I don't remember what I ate at the moment, but it was good. My grandma brought over these amazing cupcakes (one-inch thick layer of frosting on top, and it's not the cheap store-bought kind), so I had one of those as well. Then we got calendars (mine was this very very very sexy LOTR portraits calendar that I had been eyeing at the mall about a week ago) and some money, which is always very nice.
Later, I went out and rented Casanova (with Heath Ledger) and The Libertine (with Johnny Depp), so I'm going to watch that tomorrow, as well as finish Mr. & Mrs. Smith. I also have to work on a history essay, ugh. -_- But on Wednesday we're driving two and a half hours to see my grandfather (whom we haven't seen in about five years), on Thursday
a4_anglomania and
lanie__rose might come over, and on Friday we're going clothes-shopping.
I only wish that we had a longer break from school... =/
So, that's my story from the past few days. =)
