Omg, today was the BEST DAY EVER!

1. HARRY POTTER'S OUT!
2. I had only two full classes today, as I had a free block and the others were, for various reasons, let out early.
3. I had a really good burrito thing for lunch. And I also had lots of chocolate.
4. I was wearing my boots! *claps*
5. I brought my CD player to school, so I was listening to the AMAZING House of Flying Daggers soundtrack almost the entire day.

And one of the best reasons?

I DON'T HAVE TO JOIN THE HIGH SCHOOL GYMNASTICS TEAM!

Okay, so here's the story.

Basically, my parents told me awhile ago that I had to join the high school gymnastics team. I'd heard very bad things about the team from people at my gym who did it--no one worked at all, people argued all the time, you didn't learn anything new, the spotters were horrible and sometimes didn't get you if you were falling, there were meets at least twice a week (I HATE meets) and you didn't always get a chance to compete.

However, my parents said that it would look good on my college application, and therefore they weren't going to have me not do it. As the practice schedule for the high school was Mondays through Thursdays and some Saturdays, this would have caused about fifty billion problems, such as:

- Conflict with my regular gymnastics schedule, which is Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays
- Conflict with my karate schedule, which is Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Totally ruining my winter, as I would have had to work like there was no tomorrow to do all of this and get my schoolwork done
- Making my gymnastics abilities worse

But my parents refused to listen to me, because they had heard from other parents that it really wasn't that bad. >_<

Then my mom decided to have a friend of hers, who helps the students at my school apply for colleges, ask around and see if colleges cared more about a person doing a high school team or a person who had been really dedicated to a sport (this is my seventh year doing gymnastics). The woman ended up having lunch with three other people who work with applications, and as it turns out, it doesn't matter what you do as long as you're dedicated.

So this means, as I found out at dinner, I don't have to do the team! =DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD *izded*

On the other hand, there are two conditions:

- I have to do Dance Troupe (a dance club) for every single year
- I have to get something published (writing) once a year

The last one isn't really that hard, as [livejournal.com profile] __dittany and [livejournal.com profile] elven_minority, who used to be staff members of our school's literary magazine, have informed me that the magazine only accepts angsty stuff, which I tend to write. :P

I'M SO EXCITED! GOF TOMORROW, BABY! WOOT!
