14-Favorite Mentor
If you've been paying attention to my recaps of various seasons (lol, I delude myself =P ), you've probably figured out that I hate most of the Rangers' mentors. By and large, they're completely useless and/or just flat out terrible. ZORDON, YOU'RE BETTER OFF DEAD. *ahem* Another thing that really pisses me off about mentors is how often they refuse to answer the Rangers' questions (Dimitria, that'd be YOU) and pass it off as trying to get the Rangers to learn a lesson. No, how about you just tell them the fucking answer, and not let the fate of the world hang in the balance until they figure it out.
Anyway, so, I'd have to say that my favorite mentor is Dr. K!
Dr. K is approximately twenty million kinds of awesome. First of all, she is COMPETENT. That alone earns her bonus points in Power Rangers. Second of all, not only is she competent, but she actually EXCELS. So, yay, A+ to her! Third of all, she has pretty much the greatest sense of humor ever. Her deadpan delivery is amazing. Fourth of all, she is cute and adorable with Gem, Gemma, and Ziggy! What's not to like?
Runner-up: Captain Mitchell
I've always had a soft spot for Captain Mitchell. He arguably wasn't an effective leader all the time (seriously, what was up with his panic moment in the season finale), but his interactions with Dana/Ryan were touching and I loved his scenes with Carter.

None of this "yo yo yo" Alpha 6 bullshit. Alpha 5 all the motherfucking way. You guys, he has a TEDDY BEAR and he babysits children. ♥
Runner-up: Ms. Fairweather
It was very, very awesome to see a female character put one of the male Power Rangers in his place. Her and Joel's interactions were always fun to watch, and the evolution of their relationship was handled unusually well for Power Rangers. Additionally, Ms. Fairweather is just plain fucking awesome. Designing all of that equipment? Win. The only thing that would have made her even more awesome is if she had been able to defend herself from monsters - though, on the other hand, she was a very quick thinker and always able to do something to minimize the damage. So, major kudos to Ms. Fairweather. =D

Oh man, can we say daddy issues? This guy was such a good actor, and his scenes with Wes... hot damn. So much angst. The moment where he found out Wes was a Ranger was fucking EPIC. And, even though he came off as a douchebag for most of the series, deep down his heart was in the right place.
