[Poll #1166677]

I really want to write "Oh my God," because the comma looks so stupid, but I always thought it was supposed to have the comma. Does anyone know? I can't find the answer online and I'm writing a story where there'll be rampant OMG-usage, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I prefer saying "Oh Em Gee" but that's just me.

Lol, I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that...

"Oh" is an interjection and interjections are always followed by either an comma or an exclamation point.

I think it kind of depends on the context.
Like if you're PRAISING GOD you would say "Oh, my God." But if you're just saying OMG! then I feel like the whole phrase has become accepted as an exclamation, so you can just say "Oh my God!"

Yeah... that's why I always feel honor-bound to put the comma there, but it just looks so wrong because no one says it like that. =/

I was thinking about that, but I still think that "Oh" is an interjection within an interjection, so you should still use the comma.

I stand by my point of view. "Oh my God" is used frequently enough to be accepted as one exclamation.

OMG LJ GRAMMAR BITCHFIGHT MARA.

Either/or depending on emphasis. In the situation I'd only use a comma to signal a definite pause when the phrase is spoken out loud, not just put it there because the Grammar Fairy says so. :P

=) That makes sense. I think I'm going to go with that approach. Thanks!
