Howdy, LiveJournal! Long time no update. Here's what's been going on in the past several weeks...
Gymnastics. I've had a couple of meets, one of which was a sectional - and I qualified for States! =D I still haven't qualified for Level 9, but I barely have the skills for Level 8, so maybe next year if I'm lucky. I've been working on giants (where you're in a handstand on the high bar and you swing around a bunch of times), and hopefully I'll get them soon! A couple of weeks ago I also went to the Tyson American Cup, which was pretty awesome because I got to see both Nastia Liukin and Paul Hamm. There were some incredible athletes there - but, of course, my camera chose to stop working about three events into the meet, which means I basically got nothing.
School. Ugh, school. I've been deluged with a ton of work, mostly in history. I'm taking the AP European History test this May, and since we've fallen behind I've had to read a couple of chapters per week. (That's a lot of pages, btw.) In my regular history class, we have a research paper due next week, which I've barely started typing and will likely spend my entire weekend working on. Then there's the usual barrage of tests, quizzes, and essays that my other teachers like to assign... fun stuff!
Health. Does anyone here have knee problems? My left knee's been doing this weird thing where it kind of pops every time I do a round-off in gymnastics. It hurts while I'm doing the move and sometimes afterwards, depending on how long I've been tumbling. A specialist at one of the gymnastics meets I attended said it was some kind of muscle (I forget which), and he gave me some stretches to do. But I was wondering - you know those bands that wrap around your knees? What are those for? Would they help in my situation?
That's about it right now - what's going on with everyone?
