Well, that's it. I've reread the first six Harry Potter books, and now all I have to do is wait for the seventh.

In the meantime, I decided to write up a list of predictions I have for the seventh, because I think it'll be interesting to see how many of them come true.

01. First of all, I think Snape is good. A lot of people don't agree with this, but honestly, I still trust Dumbledore. Even now, after Snape killed him, I think there was a reason behind his actions. As Malfoy said, Snape was a double-agent, but not in the Dark Lord's favor. Dumbledore was pleading with Snape right before he died; I think it was to remember his part of the plan, to remember that he would have to kill his headmaster.

Dumbledore has a plan, I'm sure of it. I think he knew that he was going to die, and he sacrificed himself so that Snape could keep his job. As far as we know, Snape is the only member of the Order of the Phoenix who has penetrated Voldemort's ranks. Even if he can't report to Dumbledore anymore, that's a valuable position, and one that could very well work against the Dark Lord sometime in the future.

02. That said, I also think Snape is going to die, because either Harry's going to kill him for what he did to Dumbledore, or Voldemort is going to kill him for at last turning on him. And if he somehow fails to protect Draco, then the Unbreakable Vow will be his end. Either way, he's a dead man, and I doubt anyone (in the wizarding world, not the readers) will be sorry to see him go, even if he does ultimately save the battle.

03. As much as I don't want to say it, I'm positive that the Weasley family is going to take a hard hit. There are too many of them, all hated by Voldemort's followers, to reasonably be kept safe in the war. I'd love for the OBHWF to come true, but I don't think it's going to happen. If Rowling really wants to make the book dark, she'll kill Fred and George (or even worse, only kill one of them). I'm not entirely sure about Percy, though it's entirely plausible that he could be killed in his line of duty for the Ministry.

04. Ron is going to die. I'm sorry, he is. He's got everything going against him (namely, he's Harry's sidekick, and the sidekicks always die to give the hero the extra push of rage he needs to kill the villain). However, as [livejournal.com profile] sound_of_bells once said, remember the time he looked into the Mirror of Erised and saw himself rising above all his brothers? If he sacrifices himself so that Harry can kill Voldemort, then he - rather than the rest of his family - will be forever remembered by the wizarding community. For once, he will have finally outshone his brothers.

05. Lupin and Wormtail are also goners. First James, then Sirius; it only makes since - in fact, it's symbolic - that the other Marauders die, too. I don't know how they're going to die, I don't know when they're going to die, but they are not going to come out of the war alive. Wormtail, I suspect, will do something that will help the war effort: remember Dumbledore saying there would be a time when Harry was glad he had saved his life? That time hasn't come yet, but it will.

06. Ron and Hermione are in love with each other, and will confess it right before he dies. Screw you, Harmony shippers.

That said, I'll be curious to see whether or not the Dursleys are dead when Harry arrives back at their house over the summer. I know Harry can't be hurt when he goes there, so I'm not expecting a big battle or anything, but I'd be really surprised if Voldemort didn't try to hurt them in some way. I'm not sure if he's aware that Harry hates the Dursleys, but he'd probably kill them for the fun of it.

I also want to learn more about Scrimgeour. He strikes me as a really shady character; I feel like we don't know anything about him, other than the fact that he's the Minister of Magic. I don't necessarily think he's evil, but I don't think he's necessarily a person you can trust. I'd feel more comfortable with Fudge in his place, simply because while we know he's an idiot, we also know him better.

On another note, I really hope we don't see the Inferi again. I think those things were pushing the fantasy limits way too far. I mean, yeah, flying broomsticks and magic spells and all that, but this just seemed too out there. I don't know why Rowling came up with them, but I don't think they were her best idea ever and having Harry fight against more zombies would be placing the story at the risk of turning into a joke.

Finally... Draco. I really want to know what he's up to, and whether Voldemort will kill him for failing to do his job, or whether Snape'll be able to divert his wrath. I also wonder if Voldemort's going to murder Lucius at some point, but if it comes to a battle sooner than later I think that he'll prefer to have all the support he can get. Lucius may have screwed up, but he's obviously a good wizard, or Voldemort wouldn't have entrusted so many missions to him. (However, wouldn't it be great if Arthur Weasley killed him?)

Well, that's it... I'd love to hear what thoughts you guys have on the matter!

Lol, I hope I'm wrong about Ron dying and everything! But either way I think the seventh book is going to be an emotional experience, so... =/
