FORMAT: CD
ARTIST: Taylor Swift
TITLE: Taylor Swift

01. The opening song, "Tim McGraw," is very... sweet. There's really no other word to describe it. Swift clearly has vocals; they're nothing like Christina Aguilera's, but she's probably a close second in terms of teenage talent. I feel like the country genre really doesn't get enough credit; some of the artists are amazing singers. If they weren't singing about how their horses got shot or whatever, Lindsay Lohan and Ashlee Simpson would be out of business.

02. I love the song "Picture To Burn." It's Swift's tribute to Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats," only instead of taking revenge on the crappy boyfriend she's talking about what the crappy boyfriend actually did.

I realized you love yourself
More that you could ever love me
So go and tell your friends
That I’m obsessive and crazy,
That’s fine

I’ll tell mine you’re gay
And by the way,
I hate that stupid old pickup truck,
You never let me drive

Haha, I think that's so hilariously true. Not so much around here, but it's usually a huge insult to a guy's ego to be called gay. I don't know why; for some reason, that offends them like nothing else. It's like you're questioning their very manliness, for Christ's sake.

ETA: I just randomly stumbled on a slash fic involving homophobia, how coincidental.

03. I love the songs "Should've Said No" and "Mary's Song (Oh My, My, My)." They both have a great rhythm and, of course, Swift's voice is excellent.

04. This is another short review, because it's late and I'm going to be off to bed, but I really, really liked this album and I don't have too many complaints about it. In fact, I really don't have any. Swift has an amazing voice for her age (she's sixteen, I think), her lyrics are great, and the music is good to listen to! I'm hesitating about giving it five stars, though, simply because I'm not like "OMGWTF!!!!!!" about it. It's probably about four and a half... I really wish I did half stars. I don't know what I was thinking when I didn't.
