FORMAT: CD
ARTIST: Ashley Tisdale
TITLE: Headstrong

01. I can't stand intros. Honestly, I think the only two I've ever liked were the one on Christina Aguilera's Stripped and on 98 Degrees' (yes, seriously) album 98 Degrees and Rising. I don't get what's the point in them. We know who you are, we know you're going to sing, you don't need to have an introduction that smashes random sounds together and has your voice warbling in the background.

02. The first song (not counting the God-awful "Intro"), "So Much For You," is rather fun... I'm still trying to work out why she called it "So Much For You," when she's been praising this guy (or at least feeding his ego) for the entire song.

03. I love the song "He Said, She Said." Yes, it does have her semi-rapping in the verses, but it's a really good song to dance to. The lyrics are incomprehensible, though it's someone from High School Musical--one musn't set their expectations too high for a regular on the Disney Channel. In any case, "He Said, She Said," while an aural mess at times, is still excellent and fun! =D

04. The violins in "Be Good To Me" are playing something that I've heard somewhere else, but now I can't figure out where I've heard it.

05. I love the Middle-Eastern thing she has going on in "Not Like That." It reminds me of Haley Bennett in Music and Lyrics. For some reason, I think I've heard this song before... *shrugs* Does anyone know if she's made it to the Top 40 radio?

06. The dialogue in "Over It" was totally unnecessary, but the rest of the song was awesome. (Particularly the part where she goes, "You lost the game!" Lol, I wonder how many people lose the game when they hear that. Just because of that line, I'm keeping it on iTunes.)

07. Despite having a cringe-worthy name, "Don't Touch (The Zoom Song)" is actually obscenely catchy.

08. "Headstrong" would have been a much better way to end the album than "Suddenly." Let's be honest: Tisdale's voice, while decent, is way too whiny-esque (sort of like Rihanna, only less extreme) to attempt a ballad. It wasn't a bad ballad, but her voice was cracking a lot and Christina Aguilera would have been ashamed.

09. Overall, this album was better than I expected it to be (remember, one doesn't have very high hopes for a Disney Channel star), but it would have been even better if her voice had been more suited to the ballads. I'm not saying she should have taken them off, because some of them were good in the sense that they had nice music and decent lyrics, but her voice didn't really meet the bar. Other than that, however, most of the songs were upbeat and fun to dance to, which is always a plus. ^_^

Yup, I have the "dirty" version. I didn't know there were others, lol.

Is Vanessa Hudgens also in high school musical? I never watched that movie, I only know Ashley Tisdale was in it because of the review on iTunes.
