FORMAT: CD
ARTIST: Basement Jaxx
TITLE: Crazy Itch Radio
01. All I have to say about the song "Intro" is: interesting...
02. It's cool how a woman walks you between the second and fourth songs (by the way, the second, "Hush Boy," was good in its weirdness), but again, I'm really not fond of fifty-second tracks like "Zoomalude."
03. "Hey You" has a very dark, twisted feel to it... almost like one of those circuses in the horror movies, if you know what I mean.
04. LOL at the last line of "Run 4 Cover": "This is for all the men who think you're [something]; well, you're not." It's not the line itself, really, but the hilarious way in which the singer says it. I seriously think they were all on crack when they did this song.
05. I have to wonder how Basement Jaxx managed to come up with the sometimes ludicrous things that people are saying on the album. I can't seem to dig up any decent lyrics for this album, but let me tell you, I want some of whatever they were having, if it would make me half as creative.
06. As far as the instruments go, they're amazing. It's almost like a jazzed-up and way more interesting version of Thievery Corporation or Supreme Beings of Leisure. They're fun and cool to dance to, as well as incredibly varied.
07. Overall, this album is definitely a little weird at times, but for the most part it's really good. If you have no idea who Basement Jaxx is, they were on the soundtrack for Bend It Like Beckham, which is how I got into them in the first place. I'd definitely recommend this, if you're willing to experiment with different types of music. =D
