Okay, I think at this point I'm basically no longer on hiatus. Vacation starts a little over twenty-four hours from now, and in about two days I'll have absolutely no activities to do.

In any case, an interesting situation has come up in my house.

So, my brother has never been very "academically inclined." It's not that he's not smart--he just doesn't care as much about school. He does his homework and studies for tests and all, but never really puts that much effort into it. My parents, on the other hand, refuse to accept that some people are just not straight A students, and are constantly bothering him about his schoolwork. They stated outright that they expected all A's from him this trimester.

Well, the report card came back yesterday. I don't remember the exact grades, but I think it went A, A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+. (Science, computers, gym, English, Spanish, and math.) As you can imagine, my parents were absolutely furious with him. They were screaming at him over dinner like crazy. My dad was yelling, "You fucking screwed up! You fucking screwed up!" Which was a little amusing, but over-reacting much? My mom was going hysterical and saying that she was going to e-mail all of his teachers and inform them that they weren't going to tolerate his effort and grades. It was pretty messed up.

At the end, they decided that he couldn't go to any school dances or have anyone over until he pulled his grades up. My dad's planning on starting this schoolwork regime in which my brother has to tell him "three weeks in advance" every upcoming test, project, etc. No TV, nothing, until he's done with his homework. I'm not actually sure how much of this is going to happen, but it's really crazy.

On top of that, my dad decides that I'm now going to be checking over my brother's math and Spanish homework, in addition to helping him review for tests. The only upside to this is that I'm supposed to get paid for it.

*sighs* Like, wtf? C's are average, and he only had one on his report card. It's the first one he's ever gotten, and apparently there have been lots of complaints that that teacher never explains things properly. I honestly don't see why they expect so much of him. It's ridiculous. >_< In fact, it's so ridiculous that I'm actually defending my brother, which never happens.

ARGH, can't wait for vacation.
